This full-time, on-site Shop Assistant position is suited to someone with previous supermarket or similar retail experience who enjoys working with customers and supporting a busy local shop environment. The successful candidate will help customers, replenish shelves, organize merchandise, operate the cash register, maintain cleanliness, and work closely with colleagues to ensure smooth daily operations.

The shop serves the local community with a wide range of products and a strong focus on friendly, reliable service. Candidates should be approachable, punctual, physically able to stand for long periods, and comfortable handling practical store duties throughout the shift.

• Provide exceptional customer service and respond to customer needs and inquiries efficiently.
• Assist with receiving, unpacking, organizing, and displaying merchandise.
• Keep shelves stocked and ensure displays are neat, clean, and attractive.
• Operate the cash register, process transactions accurately, and balance the till at the end of shifts.
• Maintain cleanliness and order across the shop, including sweeping, mopping, dusting shelves, and keeping products presentable.
• Stay informed about products, including new arrivals, and provide helpful recommendations to customers.
• Work closely with other team members to support smooth shop operations and a positive working environment.
• Assist with opening, closing, and other daily shop duties as required.

• Previous experience working in a supermarket, convenience shop, or similar retail environment.
• Must live close to Safi, Tarxien, or nearby Mqabba, Malta.
• Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
• Good verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to stand for long periods and perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting and moving stock.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to demonstrate a strong work ethic.

• Experience in supermarket shelf replenishment, stock rotation, or till operation.
• Comfortable assisting customers with product questions and recommendations.
• Availability to support opening and closing duties when required.
