About the Role
Outreach Recruitment is hiring a Hotel Maintenance Assistant for a well-established hotel in St. Paul’s Bay, Malta. This role suits a practical, hands-on candidate who can keep guest rooms, public areas and hotel facilities running smoothly through day-to-day maintenance and repairs. The Hotel Maintenance Assistant responds to maintenance requests, carries out routine upkeep and minor repairs, and supports the housekeeping and management teams in keeping the property in excellent working order. This is a full-time, on-site position suited to candidates who are hands-on, organised, and comfortable working across plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting and general building maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine maintenance and minor repairs across guest rooms, common areas and hotel facilities
- Inspect rooms and public areas to identify and resolve maintenance issues
- Assist with plumbing, electrical, carpentry and painting work
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and staff
- Maintain air-conditioning units and hotel equipment
- Perform preventive maintenance to help avoid equipment breakdowns
- Help upkeep pool and guest facilities
- Keep tools and maintenance areas organised
- Follow health and safety procedures at all times
- Collaborate with housekeeping and management teams
Requirements
- Prior hotel or building maintenance experience preferred
- Foundational knowledge of plumbing, electrical work and general repairs
- Practical problem-solving ability
- Reliable, organised, and a strong team player
- Good communication skills
- Flexible and able to respond to urgent maintenance requests
- Hospitality industry background is an advantage
