Retail Shop Supervisor — Birkirkara, Malta
About the Role
Outreach Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established company in the home improvement and retail sector in Birkirkara, for a motivated and experienced Retail Shop Supervisor to join their growing team.
You will oversee daily store operations, supervise and motivate the retail staff, keep customer service standards high and make sure the store runs smoothly — from staff schedules and sales targets to merchandising, stock levels and health and safety.
The role suits a hands-on retail professional with supervisory or team leadership experience and a customer-focused approach. It is a full-time, on-site position paying €3,000 per month.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily store operations, ensuring efficiency and compliance with company policies and procedures
- Supervise, motivate and support retail staff to achieve individual and team performance targets
- Ensure high standards of customer service and promptly address customer enquiries, concerns and complaints
- Monitor sales performance and support the achievement of store sales targets
- Coordinate staff schedules, allocate daily tasks and ensure adequate staffing levels
- Maintain attractive product displays, proper merchandising and overall store presentation
- Monitor stock levels, assist with inventory management and coordinate stock replenishment
- Ensure accurate pricing, product labelling and promotional displays
- Support the training and development of team members in product knowledge and customer service
- Keep the store clean, organised, safe and compliant with health and safety regulations
- Assist management with operational reports, sales updates and improvement opportunities
- Lead by example, supporting the team with day-to-day tasks when required
Requirements
- Previous experience in a retail supervisory or team leadership role
- Strong leadership, organisational and people management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Customer-oriented mindset with the ability to handle challenging situations professionally
- Good understanding of retail operations, stock management and merchandising
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Good command of English, both written and spoken
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with POS systems
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends and public holidays when required
