The Role
We are seeking a Pastry Commis Chef to join the team. You will support the pastry team in preparing and producing high-quality desserts and baked goods, assisting in day-to-day kitchen operations while developing your skills under the guidance of senior pastry chefs.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of pastry items, baked goods, and desserts.
- Follow recipes and instructions from the Pastry Chef and Sous Chef.
- Prepare ingredients and ensure workstations are clean and well-organized.
- Assist with decorating and finishing pastries and desserts.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene.
- Ensure proper storage and rotation of ingredients.
- Support the team in adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to grow in the role.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a kitchen or pastry environment is preferred.
- Basic understanding of baking techniques and interest in pastry work.
- Willingness to learn and take direction.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team.
- Flexible with working hours, including weekends and public holidays.
- Good communication skills in English.
- Passionate about pastry and eager to grow in the culinary field.
- Organized, enthusiastic, and a team player with strong attention to detail.
