About the Role
Our client, a leading company specialising in the manufacturing and installation of high-quality furniture, stairways, flooring, timber and wood products, is looking for Skilled Carpenters with expertise in joinery. The role is full-time and on-site in Żebbuġ, Malta, and pays €8 to €11 per hour.
You will use joinery techniques to construct and install furniture, stairways, flooring, timber products and other wooden structures, reading blueprints and design plans, and measuring, cutting, shaping and assembling materials to specification.
The contract is provided directly by the company. The ideal candidate has excellent woodworking skills, a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of joinery.
Key Responsibilities
- Use joinery techniques to construct and install furniture, stairways, flooring, timber products and other wooden structures to specification
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches and design plans to determine project scope and materials
- Measure, cut, shape and assemble wood and other materials to construct or repair structures
- Install hardware such as hinges, handles and locks on wooden structures
- Collaborate with the design team and other craftsmen to ensure accuracy and quality
- Inspect and maintain tools and equipment in proper working condition
- Follow safety protocols and industry standards
- Guide and train apprentices or less-experienced carpenters when necessary
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors and clients
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Carpenter, preferably in furniture, stairways, flooring, timber or a related industry
- Proficiency in joinery techniques and advanced woodworking skills
- Strong knowledge of woodworking tools, equipment and materials
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches and design plans
- Excellent attention to detail and precision in measurements and cuts
- Good physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions
- Strong problem-solving skills, working independently or as part of a team
- Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Basic understanding of safety protocols and regulations
- Preferred: certification or formal training in carpentry, and familiarity with aluminium profiles, roofing and steel work
