About the Role

The role involves sourcing, purchasing, and coordinating vessel provisions, ensuring orders are delivered accurately and on time ahead of vessel departures. The Ship Chandler plans provisioning using historical consumption data, manages inventory and supplier relationships, and works closely with the Finance Department to maintain procurement records and forecasts. This is a full-time, on-site role suited to an organised, detail-oriented candidate who can manage multiple priorities and work independently under pressure.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and purchase vessel provisions using historical consumption data
- Coordinate provisioning before vessel departure with accurate, timely deliveries
- Source food, beverages, and supplies from approved suppliers
- Manage inventory, monitor expiry dates, and ensure proper storage and labelling
- Process and fulfil supply requests before departure
- Verify invoices and resolve discrepancies
- Monitor market trends and negotiate competitive pricing
- Maintain procurement records and prepare forecasts
- Support the Finance Department during quieter periods
- Build supplier and stakeholder relationships
Requirements
- Experience in procurement, storekeeping, ship chandling, or supply chain operations
- Strong organisational skills managing multiple priorities
