About the Role
Outreach Recruitment is seeking an experienced Fleet, Tools and Facility Manager on behalf of a well-established marine engineering organisation based in Paola, Malta. This is a full-time, on-site role responsible for the operational management of the company's fleet, shipyard production tools and equipment, and all facility and infrastructure operations across a dynamic shipyard environment.
This position suits an operationally minded professional with a strong background in fleet, industrial asset, and facility management, ideally within a shipbuilding, ship repair, or large-scale industrial setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee company fleet including passenger vehicles, vans, operational vehicles, forklifts, aerial work platforms, and cranes.
- Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance across all fleet assets.
- Monitor operating costs and fuel consumption.
- Manage leasing, rentals, purchases, and equipment disposal.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and insurance documentation.
- Maintain availability and reliability of shipyard tools and production equipment.
- Coordinate maintenance, inspections, calibrations, and certifications.
- Manage equipment inventories and lifecycle planning.
- Optimise equipment allocation across projects and operational areas.
- Coordinate maintenance of dry docks, workshops, warehouses, buildings, and operational areas.
- Ensure proper functionality of dry dock systems.
- Manage maintenance contracts with external suppliers.
- Support facility upgrades and capital investments.
- Monitor energy consumption and operating costs.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Support inspections, audits, and regulatory verifications.
- Assist project teams with resource planning and asset allocation.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Naval Engineering, Facility Management, or related field (or technical diploma with relevant experience).
- Minimum 5 years in fleet, industrial asset, facility, or maintenance management.
- Background in shipbuilding, ship repair, industrial manufacturing, or infrastructure operations preferred.
- Experience with industrial equipment, lifting devices, vehicles, and facilities.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Budgeting, cost control, and contractor management experience.
- Proficiency in CMMS, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office.
- Experience in a shipyard, dry-dock, or marine engineering environment.
- Familiarity with classification society requirements and vessel maintenance schedules.
- Knowledge of CMMS platforms used in marine or industrial settings.
- Experience managing subcontractors and external service providers in a regulated environment.
