Finance Officer — Mellieħa, Malta
About the Role
Our client, a well-established hospitality organisation in Mellieħa, is seeking a Finance Officer to support day-to-day finance operations within its Finance team. This role focuses on purchase invoices, supplier reconciliations, cost monitoring, accruals, and fixed assets management.
The successful candidate will work closely with department heads and suppliers to ensure accurate, timely processing of invoices and financial records, while supporting the wider finance team with administrative and operational tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and post purchase invoices against supplier agreements.
- Identify and report invoice discrepancies.
- Monitor supplier pricing and communicate changes to department heads.
- Follow up on outstanding invoices arising from supplier reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly accruals and maintain job sheet logbooks.
- Process capital expenditure invoices in accounting and fixed assets systems.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as licence and permit applications.
- Support stock takes through spot checks.
- Provide general finance-related assistance as needed.
Requirements
- Only candidates currently residing in Malta or candidates based in Europe holding EU nationality will be considered.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A background in procurement, logistics, finance, or administration is advantageous.
- Hospitality industry experience is advantageous.
- Knowledge of accounting software is advantageous.
