Senior Sales & Marketing Executive - Airline Industry — Mosta, Malta

About the Role

Our client, a leading player in the aviation and airline sector, is seeking a driven and commercially minded Senior Sales & Marketing Executive to join their team in Mosta, Malta. This is a senior individual-contributor role focused on growing airline revenue, developing strategic partnerships, and executing targeted marketing campaigns across key travel and corporate markets.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in airline or travel industry sales, a deep understanding of GDS platforms and revenue management principles, and the ability to build lasting relationships with travel agents, corporate clients, and tour operators.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to meet and exceed airline revenue targets across leisure, corporate, and group segments
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with travel agencies, tour operators, corporate accounts, and online travel agents (OTAs)
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the Maltese and international markets
  • Plan and implement marketing campaigns, promotional activities, and trade events to drive brand awareness and bookings
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to inform commercial decisions
  • Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and performance analyses for senior management
  • Collaborate with the revenue management and operations teams to align pricing, inventory, and marketing messaging
  • Represent the airline at industry events, trade shows, and networking forums
  • Manage relationships with GDS providers and ensure optimal distribution of fares and availability

Requirements

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in airline, aviation, or travel industry sales and marketing
  • Proven track record of achieving or exceeding commercial targets in a B2B or B2C sales environment
  • Strong knowledge of airline distribution channels, GDS systems (Amadeus, Sabre, or Galileo), and ticketing processes
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills in English (additional languages are an asset)
  • Proficient in CRM tools, Microsoft Office, and digital marketing platforms
  • Commercially astute with a strong analytical mindset
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for client meetings and industry events
  • EU citizenship or valid work authorisation in Malta required
