QHSE Manager — Paola, Malta
About the Role
Outreach Recruitment is seeking an experienced QHSE Manager on behalf of a leading organisation within the ship repair and industrial sector, based in Paola, Malta. This is a full-time, on-site senior management role with responsibility for developing, leading, and maintaining the Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental function across all operational activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain QHSE policies and procedures in compliance with international and local regulations (ISO, IMO, SOLAS, OHSAS, and others).
- Monitor compliance with safety, health, environmental, and quality standards across all operations.
- Conduct regular audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Design and deliver training programmes to raise awareness of QHSE standards among employees and contractors.
- Lead incident investigations, perform root cause analysis, and report findings to senior management.
- Collaborate with operational teams to integrate QHSE requirements into project planning and execution.
- Maintain accurate documentation and prepare QHSE performance reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in safety, quality, and environmental performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Safety Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a QHSE management role, preferably within maritime, shipbuilding, or industrial environments.
- Strong knowledge of international safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to analyse data, identify trends, and implement effective improvement measures.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Proficiency in English; additional languages are an asset.
