About the Role
One of our clients is seeking an experienced and highly organised Head Housekeeper to lead and manage the entire housekeeping department. This role carries full responsibility for cleanliness standards across guest rooms, public areas, restaurant, bistro, pool and spa facilities, while overseeing, training and motivating a team of 10 housekeeping staff.
The successful candidate will combine strong leadership skills with a hands-on approach and a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Department Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, manage and motivate a team of approximately 10 housekeeping staff.
- Prepare staff schedules and allocate daily duties according to occupancy levels.
- Conduct regular room and public area inspections to ensure quality standards are consistently met.
- Provide training, coaching and performance management for team members.
- Participate in recruitment, onboarding and probation evaluations.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork and service excellence.
- Operational Management
- Ensure all 83 guest rooms are cleaned, maintained and released on time.
- Oversee cleanliness of all public areas including lobby, corridors, restaurant, bistro, pool and spa areas.
- Develop and implement cleaning procedures and deep-cleaning schedules.
- Coordinate closely with Front Office and Maintenance to ensure smooth room turnover and prompt resolution of issues.
- Manage linen inventory, guest amenities and housekeeping supplies.
- Monitor stock levels, control costs and place orders when necessary.
- Quality Control & Standards
- Maintain high standards of hygiene, safety and presentation throughout the property.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and proper chemical handling procedures.
- Implement quality control measures and continuously improve housekeeping standards.
- Oversee lost and found procedures and ensure guest privacy and security protocols are upheld.
- Administrative Duties
- Prepare housekeeping reports and maintain departmental records.
- Monitor departmental budgets and control operational expenses.
- Contribute to operational planning and service improvement initiatives.
- Hands-On Support
- Provide operational support during peak periods or staffing shortages.
- Step in to assist with cleaning duties when required.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a Head Housekeeper / Executive Housekeeper role within a hotel environment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organisational and planning abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards.
- Experience managing stock control and departmental budgets.
- Good communication skills in English (additional languages are an asset).
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and public holidays.
