About the Role One of our clients is seeking a highly skilled Level 2 Platform Operations Engineer to support and maintain core insurance platforms across Life and Non-Life business lines. This role focuses on incident resolution, system stability, root cause analysis, and continuous service improvement within complex, enterprise-level insurance systems and integrations. Key Responsibilities

  • Application & Platform Support
  • Provide Level 2 support for core policy administration and peripheral insurance systems.
  • Act as escalation point for complex incidents from Level 1 support.
  • Investigate, diagnose, and resolve application and system issues.
  • Monitor system health, batch jobs, and integrations.
  • Support application servers such as JBoss, IIS, and Tomcat.
  • Troubleshoot message-driven and event-based systems including RabbitMQ and Kafka.
  • Root Cause Analysis & Problem Management
  • Perform root cause analysis on recurring or high-impact incidents.
  • Identify systemic issues and propose long-term fixes.
  • Produce clear technical incident reports and documentation.
  • Systems Analysis & Architecture
  • Understand end-to-end system architecture across core and peripheral platforms.
  • Analyse insurance processes and system interactions.
  • Support impact analysis for system changes and fixes.
  • Database & Technical Support
  • Use PL/SQL for data analysis and troubleshooting.
  • Working knowledge of T-SQL and SQL Server required.
  • Support Oracle database performance and batch validation activities.
  • Collaborate with DBA and infrastructure teams.
  • Change & Continuous Improvement
  • Support deployments and post-release monitoring activities.
  • Work within DevOps and cloud environments, including CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Azure DevOps, GitLab, AWS CodePipeline/CodeBuild/CodeDeploy.
  • Support containerised environments including AKS and EKS.
  • Assist in automation, monitoring, alerting, and runbook improvements.
  • Collaborate with QA teams to resolve test failures and improve stability.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across platforms.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years’ experience in application support, systems analysis, or system administration.
  • Strong PL/SQL knowledge and working experience with T-SQL / SQL Server.
  • Experience supporting enterprise systems in a production environment.
  • Understanding of system architecture and integrations.
  • Exposure to JBoss, IIS, Tomcat, RabbitMQ, Kafka, or similar technologies.
  • Experience with cloud and DevOps tools (CI/CD, AKS, EKS, Azure DevOps, GitLab, AWS tools).
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience in insurance (Life or Non-Life) will be considered an asset.
  • Degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
