About the Role
Outreach Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of our client in Paola for a detail-oriented and organised Accounting Officer to join their growing Finance and Administration Department. You will support daily accounting and administrative operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency and compliance with applicable financial and tax regulations.
Your work will cover accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations and general ledger entries, monthly and annual closing (accruals, deferrals and adjusting entries), routine tax compliance including VAT, F24 filings and withholding taxes, fixed asset records and depreciation, and support during internal and external audits.
The role suits an accountant with 2–3 years of experience who is fluent in both Italian and English and enjoys precise, well-organised work. It is a full-time, on-site position paying €25,000–€30,000 per year, open to candidates currently residing in Malta.
Key Responsibilities
- Process, verify and record accounts payable and receivable invoices
- Perform bank reconciliations and maintain accurate general ledger entries
- Assist with monthly and annual financial closing, including accruals, deferrals and adjusting entries
- Support routine tax compliance, including VAT, F24 filings and withholding taxes
- Maintain fixed asset records and calculate depreciation
- Liaise with suppliers, customers and external consultants on accounting matters
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure proper document filing and archiving
- Provide documentation and assistance during internal and external audits
- Support the Finance and Administration Department with other accounting and administrative duties as required
Requirements
- Currently residing in Malta
- Diploma in Accounting, degree in Economics or a related qualification
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in accounting or a similar role
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and applicable tax regulations
- Fluency in both Italian and English, written and spoken, is essential
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting or ERP software
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Reliable, proactive and able to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- Availability to work on-site (remote working is not offered)
