Assistant Pizza Chef — Malta | Full Time | Hospitality Sector

About the Role
As an Assistant Pizza Chef in Malta, you will work alongside the head chef and senior kitchen team to produce authentic, high-quality pizzas to the highest standards of taste and presentation. This is a full-time, employer-contracted position with immediate start availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook pizzas to established recipes and quality standards
- Manage dough preparation, proofing, and topping assembly
- Maintain strict food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP)
- Support the head chef with menu development and seasonal specials
- Ensure consistent portion control and waste management
- Keep the pizza station clean, organised, and fully stocked during service
- Assist with stock rotation, ordering, and inventory checks
Requirements
- Previous experience in a pizza kitchen or Italian restaurant environment
- Knowledge of authentic pizza dough preparation and wood-fired or stone oven techniques (preferred)
- Food hygiene certification or willingness to obtain
- Ability to work flexible shifts including evenings and weekends
- Strong team player with a positive, can-do attitude
- EU passport or valid work authorisation for Malta
