Outreach Recruitment Agency is recruiting a detail-oriented Purchasing Officer for a leading shipbuilding and ship repair company based in Malta. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a procurement professional to join a well-established international maritime organisation.

About the Role

Our client operates within the maritime and shipyard sector and is seeking an experienced Purchasing Officer to manage the complete procurement cycle. The successful candidate will ensure efficient sourcing of materials and services while maintaining strong supplier relationships and accurate ERP records.

Key Responsibilities

• Issue, monitor, and follow up on purchase orders to ensure timely delivery
• Research and evaluate suppliers to identify best-value sourcing options
• Maintain accurate purchasing data within the ERP system
• Support contract negotiations with suppliers and vendors
• Coordinate with warehouse and production teams to manage material flow
• Track deliveries and resolve any supply chain discrepancies
• Prepare procurement reports and maintain accurate records

Requirements

• Technical or economic diploma or degree
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in purchasing or procurement
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
• Fluent in English (spoken and written); Italian is advantageous
• Strong negotiation and organisational abilities
• Detail-oriented with a results-driven approach
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
