We are recruiting a detail-oriented and reliable Accounts Clerk for a professional employer in Malta. This full-time finance role offers a structured working environment, career development opportunities, and competitive remuneration within a reputable Malta-based organisation.

About the Role

As an Accounts Clerk in Malta, you will support the finance team with a range of day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping tasks, ensuring accurate financial records are maintained and operational finance processes run smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately
• Reconcile supplier statements, bank accounts, and ledger entries
• Prepare and post journal entries, invoices, and credit notes
• Assist with month-end close procedures and financial reporting
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and filing systems
• Liaise with suppliers, clients, and internal departments on financial queries
• Support the preparation of VAT returns and other statutory reporting
• Assist senior accountants with ad hoc financial analysis as required

Requirements

• Previous experience in an accounts clerk, bookkeeper, or finance assistant role
• Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and double-entry bookkeeping
• Proficiency in accounting software (Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, or similar)
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills
• Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy
• Good organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
• Effective communication skills in English
• AAT qualification or equivalent an advantage
