Key Responsibilities include, but not limited to:  

  • Write, test, and maintain code to meet requirements and specifications.  
  • Develop software solutions that align with the organization’s goals and industry best practices.  
  • Analyse and troubleshoot complex issues in code and software systems.  
  • Identify and assess opportunities for business process automation, collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements, recommend solutions, and drive the implementation of automated processes to enhance overall operational efficiency.  
  • Work closely with clients or end-users to gather requirements, provide updates, and address feedback during the development process.  
  • Follow coding standards, conventions, and best practices to maintain consistency and code quality.  
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including code documentation, system architecture, and development processes.  
  • Where applicable ensure handover of documentation and training to IT support team for existing and new applications.  
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in technology.  
  • Any other duties related to the job position that may be required depending on the exigencies of the business at the time.  

Requirements:  

  • Bachelor`s degree in computer science ore related field.  
  • Professional certifications to demonstrate software development mastery.  
  • Good programming and coding skills (Java, HTML 5, JavaScript, Python)  
  • Proficient working with database systems. (MySQL, PostgreSQL).  
  • Proficient with design and consumption of RESTful APIs.  
  • Understanding of databases, ETL pipelines and data pipelines would be considered an asset.  
  • Proficient using Microsoft 365 tools and ability to design, develop and maintain custom applications and automated workflows using Power Apps and Power Automate will be considered an asset.  
  • Experience with version control systems like Git and understanding of branching and merging strategies.  
  • Experience working in Agile environments.
