Are you ready to play a pivotal role in the leading security and fire company in sunny Malta? We are actively seeking a Project Manager (Mechanical) to join our dedicated team. 🌞

The Manager (Project Management) is accountable for overseeing the performance and operations of the project management team, ensuring the successful execution of projects within defined parameters of budget, quality, and schedule. This role involves strategic planning, resource management, stakeholder coordination, and compliance adherence within a contractual and legal framework. The Department Manager acts as a mentor and point of reference for project managers, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration within the department.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Strategic Direction

  • Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction for the project management department.
  • Develop and implement departmental goals, policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure effective project delivery.
  • Mentor and support project managers in their professional development and project execution.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans outlining scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines, including risk management plans to mitigate potential project disruption.

Financial Management:

  • Oversee and track departmental expenditures, including resource allocation, training expenses, and operational costs, against budgetary allocations.
  • Implement cost-control measures as necessary to optimize departmental spending and enhance profitability.
  • Analyze departmental performance metrics and project financial data to identify opportunities for improving efficiency and maximizing profit margins.
  • Collaborate with project managers to identify and execute opportunities for project variations that enhance profitability without compromising quality or client satisfaction.
  • Prepare and submit required financial reports, including departmental budgets, variance analyses, and forecasts, to senior management for review and decision-making.
  • Maintain accurate records of departmental expenditures, including Works in Progress (WIP) records, to ensure transparency and compliance with financial regulations and company policies.

Resource and Stakeholder Management:

  • Allocate resources efficiently to support project needs and priorities.
  • Collaborate with other department managers to optimize resource utilization across the organization.
  • Ensure adequate staffing levels and skill development within the project management team.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, fostering strong communication channels and managing expectations.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure alignment with project goals and objectives.
  • Resolve conflicts and address concerns raised by stakeholders in a timely and effective manner.

Compliance and Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
  • Oversee project activities to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and legal requirements.
  • Promote and maintain awareness of health, safety, and quality standards within the department.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Fire Safety Security Management, or a related field with some exposure in a project management role OR:
  • Certification in project management is desirable.
  • Minimum of 3-4 years work experience in a project management role, demonstrating successful completion of projects
  • Valid Maltese driving license
  • Certification in project management is desirable.
