The objective of the OTHM Level 4 & Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care Management qualification is to equip learners with the underpinning knowledge, understanding and skills required for a career in the health and social care sector at a managerial level. The programme enables learners to demonstrate their skills by producing evidence from their work or training activities. Learners will acquire care management skills in the Health and Social Care sector.
Students will be required to work in the following fields whilst reading through the course:
eie Institute of Education, will assist you in job placements with local families, Elderly Homes, Hospitals and clinics.
The Level 4 modules and assignments of this course are equivalent to the first year of a University Degree and the Level 5 modules and assignments are equivalent to the second year of a University Degree.
This course is made up of 6 Level 4 modules (120 UK Credits/60 ECTS) and 6 level 5 modules (120 UK Credits/60 ECTS), for a total of 120 ECTS for both levels. Each level also includes 6 written assignments. If a student decides to only study at Level 4 they will receive 60 ECTS (120 UK credits) and can apply for an exemption from the first year of a university Degree course.
DELIVERY – LECTURE BASED
This Diploma is a lecture based course held at eie Institute of Education in St. Julians with fixed starting dates throughout the Academic year.
ELIGIBILITY
To enrol onto the Level 4 course, you must be at least 18 years of age and have a full secondary education together with a Health & Social Care Management background at Level 3 or A Level standard. Before enrolling onto the Level 5 course, you must have attained a Level 4 or equivalent in the same subject. Each case is treated on it’s own merit, and if you are in doubt, kindly contact us.
CAREER PATH
Successful completion of the Level 4 Diploma (recognised at MQF/EQF Level 5 – 60 ECTS) qualification provides learners the opportunity for a wide range of academic progressions including progression to relevant Level 5 Diplomas, including the Level 5 Diploma in Health & Social Care Management qualification. The Level 4 Diploma has been developed with career progression and professional recognition in mind.
Successful completion of Level 5 Diploma (recognised at MQF/EQF Level 5 – 120 ECTS) qualification provides learners the opportunity for a wide range of academic progressions including progression to Level 6 Diploma in Health and Social Care Management, and other relevant Level 6 Diplomas. The Level 5 Diploma in has been developed with career progression and professional recognition in mind.
Both Diplomas are ideal for anyone who wishes to embark into a Health and Social Care Management career in Hospitals, Elderly Homes, etc.
RECOGNITION The OTHM Level 4 & Level 5 Diploma in Health & Social Care Management are both recognised by MFHEA at MQF / EQF Level 5.

Upon Successful completion of the course, eligible students will be able to recover up to 70% of expenses on both the registration and tuition fees paid when starting the course.

ASSESSMENT
The Level 4/5 Diploma in Health & Social Care Management has 6 modules and 6 written assignments at each level. On completion of the modules, students will be given the assignment questions. The assignments are approximately 3000-5000 words each.
