Lead Azure Infrastructure Architect Full Time Contract by Employer Only residing in Malta or Europe

Our client, a leading Managed Services Provider (MSP) operating across Malta, Cyprus, and Greece, is expanding its technical leadership team and seeking a highly skilled Lead Azure Infrastructure Architect. This is a strategic, hands-on role focused on delivering enterprise-grade hybrid cloud solutions with Microsoft Azure at the core.

As part of a dynamic and innovative MSP, you will lead cloud transformation initiatives, advise clients on best practices, and design secure, scalable, and automated infrastructure environments. While familiarity with Microsoft 365 is beneficial, the main focus of this position is Azure infrastructure and hybrid environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, deployment, and management of Azure and hybrid cloud infrastructure.
• Execute cloud migration strategies and support clients throughout the project lifecycle.
• Apply Microsoft’s Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) and industry best practices for secure and strategic cloud adoption.
• Provision and automate infrastructure using Bicep, PowerShell, and Azure DevOps pipelines.
• Architect and implement secure solutions around networking, identity, and governance within Azure.
• Deploy and manage on-premises virtualization platforms such as Hyper-V and VMware, as well as backup solutions like Veeam.
• Maintain and enforce IT security standards across all environments.
• Serve as a technical mentor and advisor to clients and internal teams.
• Stay ahead of evolving cloud technologies and contribute to ongoing service development.

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience with Microsoft Azure infrastructure and services.
• Proficiency in Bicep, PowerShell scripting, and Azure DevOps.
• Strong understanding of networking (VPN, DNS, routing, firewalls).
• Experience with Hyper-V, VMware, Windows Server technologies, and Veeam.
• Basic Linux system administration knowledge.
• Familiarity with DevOps and infrastructure as code (IaC) practices.
• Knowledge of Microsoft 365 products (Exchange Online, Intune, SharePoint) is a plus.
• Solid understanding of IT security principles in enterprise and hybrid environments.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Microsoft certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-400, or SC-100.
• Additional certifications in networking, security, or virtualization.
• Prior experience in a senior-level position within an MSP or enterprise IT setting.
