We are seeking a qualified ELV Technical Designer. This is a fantastic opportunity to join our client’s business expansion in the ELV department, and work with one of the leading fire and security companies in Malta!

Job description

The ELV Technical Designer is responsible for the design of key ELV projects, in line with specifications, budget, and to the client’s satisfaction. This is a key role, involving office work, site visits and meetings with internal and external stakeholders. This is an excellent opportunity for  an ELV Technician looking for career growth as on the job training will be provided.

Responsibilities:

  • Design all aspects of projects from inception to completion of design including costing and ensure accurate engineering.
  • Perform value engineering during design process.
  • Develop and maintain relationship with the engineers, consultants and decision makers within the customer’s organizations.
  • Maintain all data updated and ensure proper sorting of documents including client acceptance.
  • Co-ordinate proposal and design matters between the project stakeholders.
  • Respond to all customer questions & requests in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Carry out regular follow-ups and keep track record accordingly.
  • Maintain all Engineering Data updated. Any changes in designs and client requirements must be documented and filed in an easily trackable manner.
  • Ensure client acceptance is adhered to in writing in line with the project plans.
  • Ensure proper sorting of technical and non-technical documents.
  • Clarify subsequent purchase order receipt and to prepare detailed handover documentation in a timely manner for projects.
  • Ensure compliance with the company’s management policies and procedures (SOP).
  • Provide progress reports and notes as directed by the Superiors.
  • Plans the appropriate methodology and instigates the appropriate controls.
  • Pre-plans jobs and deploys a prioritized work schedule with appropriate time deadline targets.
  • Sets, monitors & reviews workload schedule and communicate with superiors when issues are envisaged.
  • Works with project teams to develop schedules and deliverables for each project phase and functional area.
  • Identifies and works to remove barriers to successful completion of the overall project, with particular emphasis on resolving any issues.
  • Holds regular status meetings with project team.
  • Oversees project activities to ensure that the appropriate methods are employed and that sufficient due care is taken in order to meet the customer’s requirements.
  • Oversees that company’s standards are being implemented accordingly (ISO, LPCB etc).
  • Supports management reporting, information flow and organizational planning.
  • Promotes teamwork.

Job requirements:

  • Experienced in development, design, and operational coordination of technical projects, ideally in a electrical setting, preferably in an ELV setting
  • Basic experience using ACad.
  • A valid licence to drive in Malta.
  • A confident leader, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Preferably fluent in both in the English and Maltese languages
  • Only candidates that are readily available in Malta and available to start work immediately will be considered for this post.
