We are recruiting a friendly and accurate Cashier for a busy sandwich shop in Valletta, Malta. This full-time role is ideal for someone with strong customer service skills, confidence handling transactions, and the energy to thrive in a fast-paced food service environment in Malta’s capital city.
About the Role
As a Cashier in Valletta, you will be the first point of contact for customers — taking orders, processing payments, and ensuring every guest receives prompt, friendly service. You will also support the smooth daily operations of the outlet.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome patrons and process orders in a friendly and efficient manner
- Process all payment methods accurately — cash, card, and digital payments
- Operate the POS system and issue receipts correctly
- Assist with preparing simple menu items when required during busy periods
- Keep the cashier station clean, organised, and well-presented at all times
- Maintain correct visibility and replenishment of displayed products
- Handle customer questions, upsell menu items, and resolve minor issues calmly
- Comply with all health, safety, and company protocols throughout the shift
Requirements
- Prior cashier or customer service experience preferred
- Competency in arithmetic and accurate cash management
- Strong English communication skills (multilingual ability valued)
- Customer-focused demeanour with a genuine service orientation
- Ability to function in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
- Schedule flexibility including shifts, weekends, and public holidays
- POS system proficiency an advantage
- Based in Malta
